Today’s daily create threw me for a loop! I had no idea how to go about creating a latte in a ridiculous spot. I first gave it a go in GIMP putting coffee in a seashell, but it was truly so terrible that I knew I could not put that on the internet. Out of frustration, I opted for using someone else’s beautiful work to speak for itself. I knew I wanted to portray the coffee in relation to the beach, so when I was looking on Pinterest for coffee artwork, this one caught my eye. It is a sea of coffee. Every college kid’s dream.

I thought it was neat how the artists, Loraine Baird, based her art on the famous painting The Great Wave off Kanagawa. This was a perfect example of how someone can remix work and still make it an original. Today, I am simply giving full credit to Baird’s skills in creating this coffee ocean. It puts my latte-seashell attempt to shame.

The photoshop-related daily creates have been difficult for me, but I will try and try again until I get it right. My Where’s Waldo daily create from yesterday was bad enough, so I couldn’t embarrass myself two days in a row.

Regardless, I am a coffee lover, so taking the time to find an image that I would use was very enjoyable.
