Today’s Daily Create was inspired by the newest holiday, Juneteenth. I first heard about this day last year, and had no idea what it was about. I now understand that the day is for commemorating the emancipation of enslaved people in the US!
This is such an amazing development in the U.S., and I am surprised it took until just now to make this a holiday. It warms my heart to see small victories such as this.
I created this piece from taking a picture and putting text over it. I googled ‘fireworks’ and chose the first picture I liked. I was unfortunately unable to find a firework picture that I had taken myself. I then added text over the fireworks, to make it resemble a banner! Given all the colors in the fireworks, it was tricky to decide what color the text should be, but I think it ended up great!
